Telegram has released a significant update introducing several new features aimed at enhancing user experience, security, and business functionality.

Enhanced Group Calls with End-to-End Encryption

Telegram has expanded its group call capabilities, allowing users to initiate audio and video conferences without the need to create a group chat. These calls can accommodate up to 200 participants and are accessible via direct links or QR codes.

Security is a priority, with end-to-end encryption ensuring that only participants have access to the call content. Users can verify the encryption by matching four emojis displayed on their screens.

To start a group call:

• During an active call: Tap "Add Person" to include more participants.

• From the Calls tab: Navigate to the Calls tab, select "New Call," and choose multiple contacts.

• Using a link: Create a call link from the Calls tab and share it via various platforms.

Automation for Telegram Business Accounts

Premium users utilizing Telegram for business purposes can now integrate third-party chatbots, including AI-driven solutions, to manage communications, profile updates, transactions, and story postings. Permissions for these bots are customizable, allowing control over message management, profile changes, and more.

Advanced Gift Management Features

Telegram has introduced new settings for managing digital gifts. Users can:

• Add a gift icon directly to the message input field.

• Choose which gifts are visible on their profile, such as those from contacts only.

• Customize the categories of gifts they wish to receive.

Premium accounts have additional options to restrict the types of gifts they accept, focusing on unique or rare items. Gift management settings are accessible under Settings > Privacy > Gifts.

Improved Account Moderation and Appeal Process

A new "freeze" mode has been implemented for accounts suspected of violations, temporarily restricting access while allowing users to appeal directly within the app. If the appeal is successful, the account is restored without data loss. Additionally, a convenient report button now appears in chats when receiving messages from unknown users.

New Gestures for iOS and Android Users

Telegram has added intuitive gestures to enhance navigation:

• Hold the forward button: Quickly send messages to "Saved Messages" or recent chats.

• On iOS: Swipe right on the story feed to open the story editor.
