Additional monetization review for videos
YouTube has improved the review process for videos marked with a "yellow icon" (limited or no monetization).
These videos will now automatically go through an additional review, which may include manual moderation. This helps ensure faster and more accurate final decisions.
How the review process works:

Video receives a "under review" status (grey icon)

Review time: from a few hours to up to 24 hours

After the review, creators can file an appeal

Recommendation: upload videos as "unlisted" or "private" to increase the chances of full monetization
This step aims to make the system more transparent and reduce the number of incorrect monetization decisions.
New AI-based ad format — Peak Points
Google is launching an innovative ad format for YouTube, powered by the Gemini AI model. This technology allows ads to be shown at the optimal moment when viewer engagement is at its highest.
How Peak Points works:

The system analyzes user behavior and identifies the Targeted Moment — the point of maximum engagement

At this moment, the Ad Window activates, ensuring ads are displayed when the viewer is most attentive

Ads are embedded directly into the peak of viewer interest, increasing ad effectiveness
Currently, this feature is available in the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia (English-speaking markets). A gradual rollout to other regions is expected in the future.
