Social Network X Tests Marks for Posts Liked by People with Opposing Views
The platform X has launched an experimental feature aimed at identifying posts that receive likes from users with differing opinions. The test builds on Community Notes — a crowdsourced tool used to label misleading or inaccurate content.
Some Community Notes contributors will now receive special prompts encouraging them to evaluate specific posts and provide feedback. These notifications are triggered by early engagement patterns indicating interest from a diverse audience.
According to X, this feedback will contribute to developing an open-source algorithm capable of recognizing content that bridges ideological divides. Participants will be able to specify what they liked or disliked, choosing from responses like “I learned something new” or “I disagree.”
X believes this feature can help discover meaningful, unifying content social media that resonates with broader audiences and fosters constructive dialogue — a step toward a more connected world.
